I will post a pic soon. I just got my MR anakin and I will put the 2 together for comparison. I will say now that it is not a replica piece. it looks different. however, it is just the right size and design to be easy to work with. pics coming soon to a forum near you...

So I was just outside smoking and as I was standing there looking around, I saw my doorbell, and this thread came to mind.

A doorbell box looks alot like a switch box, you'd probably have to Dremel 2 curves into the bottom of it (one on each side) for it to mount flush, but I think that it would work just fine.

If you have trouble getting the curve right, you could just put a little shim in there, or something. I'm thinking like a thin piece of rubber, like a bit of a floor mat, will take up whatever slack there is.

Just my 2 cents on the subject... []

    EDIT-

Also, you may be able to use a switch box from the 'Build Your Own Lightsaber'. Its the black one on the right, with the Ani FX in the middle, and some pipe coupling on the left. The 'Build Your Own' box would be nonfunctional, but its cut out on the other side of the ring. You could just have your regular TCSS switch button there (if you want).

I know that MY doorbell is little big to be a switch box, but there are others out there that are smaller.

    Awesome!
Yeah, it'd be great if TCSS stocked box-style switches (Hint, hint, Strydur ).

All it'd really have to be is something that would go over the switches sold on TCSS; it shouldn't be too hard.

dude you're a genius. i'm putting the ashtray away and using a doorbell box now. that's probably the best idea i've heard on here yet.

i got some T6061 aluminum channel. it's 1 inc wide with 1.5 inc legs that i wack down with alittle angle for the curve on the hilt. T6061 sands and polishes up easy and will not oxidize as fast as lesser grades. the door bell looks cool also. with alot o parts wants out there i might be limit to how many things Tim can manufacture and stock. some things we are allways going have to improvise. That's what keeps this forum interesting and folks coming back. i think we'll see some cool sleeve options from tim on the mod hilt and i can't wait.maybe a sleeve box combo

Hey Devilstar that coupling you showed is what's on my saber. Take off the rubber and cut the excess tightening bands and voila! It looks great.

Yup, its already done... Not sure if you can tell from the pic tho... []

    EDIT-

Oh, you mean to clip of the excess metal? Yeah, thats the plan. For now, what I did is take out the rubber sleeve, slice it down one side, and the trimmed the rubber 'divider' out of the center of it. I figured that I may need it just in case the coupling doesn't snug up enough when I get around to building the sink pipe saber.
