Thread: EL wire question

  1. #1

    Default EL wire question

Can someone tell me if EL wire is brighter than EL sheet?

Yes, it is. The stuff sold here at TCSS is very bright. Forget EL sheet. That crap is good for watches and alarm clocks and lighting up starship models and nothing else.

EL wire is brighter than EL sheet, but if you're building an EL saber trust me, save yourself the hassle, its much easier to do an LED saber, and actually a bit less expensive. I just finished building an EL saber a few weeks ago and there are two tiny wires that keep breaking over and over, its not worth it. eventually i filled the whole mono jack with hot glue. i just purchased all my LED supplies for a bit less than all my EL supplies. and LEDs are brighter

Thanks for the advice. I ordered from Parks and they use EL sheet and I'm not really pleased with the blade. The hilt is perfect but the blade isn't and I'm looking for something better.

It should work, they use the same mono connector, and you can run the wire from parks' inverter. however Tims 4khz inverter is way brighter, I have an old parks inverter and i bought tims when i built my own blade, and there was a big difference. However my parks inverter is a good 3-4 years old
