    Default Carbon fiber blades.

Iam looking around the net and I see that theres many possibiltys for a cf blade.

now iam wondering whats better a solid rod or a hollow rod?

Well, I've only seen hollow carbon fiber rods. That's what they used in making the ROTS and possibly AOTC. A "solid" CF rod would be far too heavy.

The whole concept of a CF rod is that the weaving acts like a basket, supporting itself in a cylinder shape. I somewhat doubt you could make a good "solid" CF rod.

well carbon fiber is lightweight no matter what shape its in from what I understand.

I havent seen technical specs for hollow cf rods so I dont know what to compare it to.

well hollow would be lighter than a solid rod.....but solid would be better i think.

Honestly, you couldn't break a hollow one anyway, so there's no point in going solid.

carbon fiber should do well as long as you dont hit a tree or anything like that. randomsabers has the best deal on cf blades ive seen. i personally like the polyc because it gives a little when struck.

This is correct. Carbon fiber doesn't tend to "bend in the wind", whereas Poly-C does.

If someone were to ask me, I would say use poly-carb in almost every situation. Granted, carbon fibre is SO much lighter.

But... if you can't wield a poly-carb saber... what the *BLEEP* kind of staged combat fighter ARE you?

    Wimp.
