Tim said it would fit, but should I drill hole on either side to hold it in place? Like there would be the thumbscrew to hold the blade in place, but lower should I put screws to hold it in place?

I would use atleast 2 screws on the back side of where your thumbscrew would go.
On a lower portion and a higher portion. Heard many storys of the hilt snaping where the orange bit and grooves come togeather.
They fit really snug so I would think you could get away with just the blade screw unless you where thrusting with it.

so will you be making a "official" luke kit, or just telling us to use the maul ones?

I might just modify some mauls. I dont know yet.

that would probably be good. i haven't seen a luke open for myself, but isn't there like a notch or something that you could make the blade holder wedge into so it doesn't move?
i only get that impression because of how ultra's kit is shaped.
if you do do that, you'll be getting a 4 kit order from me when i get more money :P

If it was just wedged against the normal plastic housing that would work fine. Although the maul kits wont work this way as they are too long.

Hey Tim, would it be the same if I wa using an empty hilt?
Blue 4 "Im hit!"
If using an empty hilt I would think you could get away with just a thumbscrew but you might want to add an extra also.
How many people want an actual Luke conversion kit?

I could name a couple people.
