    Default LuxDrive Dynaohm Variable Resistor + and -

    Hello from moldy Seattle!

    Another one for the W.O.O.F.'s:

    Just noticed the label on the LuxDrive 20 mA Variable Resistors indicate plus / in and minus / out legs. Never looked that closely.
    If wired into an AV switch, I would assume the plus / in leg is the upstream side, and the minus / out leg is closest to the AV switch.

    Is that correct?

    If not installed as described above, would they work as intended?

    I assume you mean this.. 20mA DynaOhm™ Variable Resistor (thecustomsabershop.com)

    It only goes on the positive side and there is a IN and a OUT. So in from battery source and out to the LED.

    Yes, the same resistor that you sell.
    If the ends are accidentally swapped does the resistor still function as designed? Asking for a friend.

    Generally, no they don’t. With those, the polarity matters.

    When you are wiring things that are labeled, you can generally assume + should be connected toward the + of the power source and - to -, that's the purpose of those labels.

    This item does not have a - label. It has + in and a out.. suppose it should say + out to be less confusing.

    It does have the + on it, I guess the - is implied. I actually never noticed that it says in/out. Maybe with my eyesight I just thought "out" was a -!

    Just to be 100% clear.. this does not go to negative.. Positive in and Positive out.

    This makes sense as Amperage is measured in-line unlike voltage which is measured using pos and neg.
