Thread: Tri Cree (White) Not Working

Default Tri Cree (White) Not Working

    First time saber install.

After wiring up the saber I'm finding that the white LED on my Blue/Blue/White Cree XP-E2 CopperNova is not illuminating.

I took the wiring apart again and tried illuminating the white directly via the battery. Nothing.

Both blue LEDs illuminate when using direct battery, but white won't illuminate.

    Thoughts?

Can you post pics of your wiring? Also the resistors and board used might help.
Was the white led working previously and stopped? Or was this it's first test?

    Hello,
First test. Didn't test prior to actual wiring.

I have a .5ohm 3w resistor leading to each of the three LEDs on the Cree.

If the White is the top LED in the picture, the (+) doesn’t look like it has a solid connection.

Also, I hope you soldered everything BEFORE attaching it to the heat sink.

The white is the bottom one. All connections are solid. Both blue LEDs are working.

What battery are you using to test it? Assuming it is not over 3.7v try testing the white with no resistor.

    Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 2600mAh PCB Protected Rechargeable Battery Module

Tried it with and without the resistor.
