    Default Custom Vestige Saber

    Hey all,

I purchased an empty Vesitge hilt by 7 Chambers from a member of another forum a few weeks ago. It is a customized version of one of their production sabers.

I installed it with a Nano v4 and I'm really digging how it turned out, especially when used with a photon blade. I just wanted to share it with all of you!

    Specs:
    - Customized Vestige Hilt (by 7 Chambers)
    - Nano Biscotte v4 (with PEx for RGB)
    - NECree RGrB LED
    - Panasonic 18650 Battery
    - Goth3Designs modular chassis (for 0.99 in ID)
    - Leather wrap by Defcon4
    - Saber Bag by Defcon4

I'm actually doing an experiment with the NECree LED. I put this LED in the hilt without any resistors. *GASP*! I know, I know, that's dumb, but I wanted to try it to see how long it lasts, and I put it on disconnects so I can swap out a properly resistor LED should this one fail. Basically, the red LED has a diode in line with it to limit the voltage applied to it, mostly for use with other boards made by the same manufacturer. In an attempt to limit the current draw on each diode, I limited the drive parameter to a max of 1000 rather than 1023 so that the board won't output the max current at any time. We'll see how it goes. I've been playing with it for about 2 weeks now and everything's good so far, but I'm under no illusions that could change at any time. Like I said, it's an experiment

Nice looking saber. I’m not clear on the wiring of your red led die. You said there is another diode in-line with it, does that have a resistor?

The diode is supposed to get the forward voltage up closer to what a blue or green die uses.

This looks really cool! Curious as to how long the leds going to last
