Thread: budget saber build questions.

    Default budget saber build questions.

For starters I built my first saber which was an amazing experience. It has a neopixel blade and a nbv4 in a mhsv2 body. Now my wife wants a saber for herself and I'm leaning to using mhsv2 because ease of chassis building.

I am planning on using a pico crumble for sound and a luxeon tri rebel star, but she asked if there is an easy way to change color. I was either thinking about putting a second switch in that's a latching switch to disconnect power to the board because we both like the idea of having removable and swappable batteries. Would that be easier than wiring in a recharge port and using a kill key? would two buttons look funny? maybe use a momentary tactile and a latching av because she likes my av switch. Just looking for some suggestions. Thanks.

Wiring up the switch will be essentially the same as wiring a charge port. You can have 10 switches if you think it looks cool. Better to make something interesting that you enjoy than make it the way you "should."
