Currently planning a saber staff, using the newer PRIZM 5.1 board. My last experience was using a petite crouton board. My question is this, going over the PRIZM users manual it says the high powered LEDs should have resistors installed and I'm having a little trouble with the resistor calculations. This is the die I'm planning on using:
Red/Green/Royal Blue Cree XP-E2 CopperNova
Green Cree Part# XPEBGR-L1-0000-00G01
130 Minimum Luminous Flux @ 350mA
Forward Voltage @1000mA = 3.7
Red Cree Part# XPEBRD-L1-0000-00901
80.6 Minimum Luminous Flux @ 350mA
Forward Voltage @1000mA = 2.65v
Royal Blue Cree Part# XPEBRY-L1-0000-00S01
650mW Minimum Radiant Flux @ 350mA
Forward Voltage @1000mA = 3.4v
Do I need resistors? The main issue I'm having is are these newer tri cree LEDs really equal in allowing 1000mA current? The last one I used had a max current for the red die at 700mA. That and the 'minimum radiant flux' is also confusing me.
Edit: after doing a bit more digging, assuming the power supply voltage is 3.7, the green die would need no resistor per say, the red die would need a 1.05 ohm resistor, and the Royal blue die would need a 300 mohm resistor. Now I just need someone to confirm my math.
