I did a search and didn't see anything on here about it so I'm posting it.
Does anyone know where I could find a tutorial and/or things I could buy at a store?

What things, specifically? It would help to know which costume you are wanting to do, what accessories you're looking to get.

And posting pics from novel covers or whatever source you have is good. We are visual people here on these boards.

Green jedi? Cool. Throw in a green robe (perhaps one of the KOTOR II ones) and I'd certainly go for it.

I would say try looking around at some military surplus stores. The shirt and pants look pretty similar to standard BDUs. At the very least that would give you a good starting point, and they tend to be pretty cheap. Try your local army navy store, ebay, or google "military surplus". As for the belt, there are plenty of people out there making leather star wars belts, but they can be a little expensive. It's worth it to check out the Jedi Council Forums. They would have plenty of links for you there.
