Thread: FoC Problems

    Default FoC Problems

    My saber has worked fine for a long while but then developed a fault in the flash on clash where the two leds for the blade colour remain on when FoC is activated. So the FoC led is firing as it should but the other leds remain on as well, meaning that the colours all mix in that moment and ruin the desired effect. Given that this developed some time after the original build and the wiring hasn't been altered and neither have the config. file values I'm left wondering what the problem is. I'm using a Nanobiscotte v2 in conjunction with the FoC power xtender. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    It sure sounds like a configuration issue. You said you haven’t touched anything on the SD card at all in all this time?

    I had similar problems with a pre-wired NB-V4. I ended up checking all the solder joints starting at the LEDs. Wire by wire. It turned out to be a shared positive wire between the battery connection and the FOC LED. I hardwired this connection with some solder and now it works perfectly. Tracing it down was a PITA. LOL.... Turns out the connector was bent badly because of lack of space and the shared positive just pulled out of the JST connector.

    No, I haven't made any adjustments to it after my initial setup except to adjust the swing sensitivity, but I can't recall the problem developing directly after that adjustment or I would have deduced that the two were connected. If it is something to do with the configuration values, which of these would most likely be suspect?

    I thought this might be the problem early on and swapped the battery for a freshly charged one but it didn't fix the issue.

    Maybe I'll just do a complete rewire of the sabre. I've been wanting to design a new chassis anyway and tidy things up inside.

    Just checked it tonight and set the configuration parameters back to their factory presets. Tested the saber and still having the same problem.

    Did you cycle through all the color profiles?

    Also, posting your configs might be helpful, along with your LED setup.

    Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean when you mention cycling through my colour profiles My setup is a tri rebel utilizing the nano biscotte v2 and power xtender. The configs have all been reset to the factory values which are as follows:

    //Nano Biscotte Dark Meat
    vol=4
    drive=1023
    fdrive=1023
    offd=200
    deep=15000
    resume=0
    lc=400
    hs=220
    ls=50
    i=53
    shmrd=210
    shmrp=6
    shmrr=13
    focd=200
    focp=10
    focr=10
    swing=200
    clash=150
    qon=0
    qoff=0
    flks=3
    flkd=20

    I've had a tweak with some of those values to see if I get any results but so far, nothing seems to resolve this issue. The values I've played around with in particular are the fodc and focp, but like I said, all three leds still continue to fire together during a clash event regardless of the changes to parameters. Thanks for your help btw.
