Thread: Quick question on build difficulty

Default Quick question on build difficulty

I'm doing some brainstorming on my MHS idea's...

I thought about making a Standard LED blade, and do some wires for show coming out of the hilt like they do with the MR Vader.

Now I thought to myself, Wouldn't it be cool to do the wires in EL?

Would that just be a PITA to wire? Would both the LED and the el be able to run off the same circuit?

Thanks for being easy on this Noob...

It would require two seperate circuits, 1 for led, 1 for el wire. See the saber gallery it has been done before

I did this recently enough. You can do it all using the same battery pack and switch, but it gets a little complicated if you try and up the voltage to the EL wire and not to the LED, Take your time, wire it up outside the hilt and check it a time or two to make sure it all works how you think it should before trying to cram it all inside the limited dimentions of your hilt, but the end results can be most satisfying.
    good luck

    Awesome, Thanks

I planed to do just one small EL wire maybe coming out of the switch assembly and going into the hilt, like a powered on meter.

When the time comes Ill have some more in dept questions I'm sure.
