Thread: Help with first sound font?

Unhappy Help with first sound font?

I've been trying to make a new sound font for my Nano Biscotte v4, and I followed the steps outlined in both the digital manual for the board and on the Plecter Labs page. I've managed to fully design and test out the font with the saber sound mixer provided by Plecter Labs, but plugging it into my saber sound board (and reformatting the SD card) gives an error sound when it is selected and will only play the power off sound. Any ideas what I may have missed/messed up?

P.S. I intend to upload the font so you can check my work, but apparently uploading it as an attachment won't work, so are there any suggestions there?

I've never made a font from scratch, but did switch out the boot sound for my saber.

Here are a few things to double check:
-full format your SD card (the default is quick format)
-you saved the WAV files in the right format
-you saved the WAV files without metadata
-you have all the files required in the bank

    Good luck.

rlobrect said it all, but I definitely want to emphasize WITHOUT METADATA. This is probably the most common mistake. You also need to ensure all of the files are present, and in the same sort of naming and organization as the "stock" fonts.

I recommend using an actual SD card formatting software instead of your computer's built in function which is designed for platter hard drives. There is actually an official software from the SD Association for this purpose https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

Thanks for the suggestions! Now the boot sound and the power off works, so I guess that's progress. Here are some dropbox links for the files, if you want to check my work.

Hi I was having a similar problem. Can you tell me how I know I saved the files without metadata. Thanks
