    Default Unprotected 18650 or 26650?

Has anyone used an unprotected 18650 in their build before?

You shouldn't need to use an uprotected cell. TCSS sells a 10A output protected cell. Folks have certainly used them, but there is no good reason to give up the safety of a battery that won't get thermally interesting if something gets crossed or charging doesn't go as expected.

I second that, there are solutions out there to maintain safety in the Lithium Ion batteries. You don't want to burn down your house, or whatever hilt you have it in.
