    Default Parts List for a Build

    Build List I'm working on. Have a variety of chassis parts selected as well - going to see if I can get the recharge port in the pommel while still having a chassis setup behind that (standoffs or a spacer in between)

    Blade Trans White Battle blade 1" OD (30 inches)

    .5ohm 3w resistor resistor (for the white channel, the greens I believe I can limit with the drive parameter on the board....but I have enough resistors I could still put one on each of the greens too)


    Power Source Panasonic Li-Ion 18650 3.7V 3400mAh PCB Protected Rechargeable Battery
    Recharge Port 3.7V Li-ion smart charger with 2.1mm plug
    Kill plug style 2

    Switch 16mm Anti Vandal Momentary Green Dot/Ring Switch (will use a 20mA DynaOhm for this if I have the room)

    Nothing strikes me as being missing. I'd probably pick up a spare thermal pad or two for the LED star. They're inexpensive, and not re-usable if you need to take the star off your heatsink to fix wiring.

    Definitely use a resistor on all three of your LED dice. The NB can act quirky without them.

    Thanks for the reply, I did order several extra thermal pads and I have a bunch of resistors - are you suggesting using them.even on the green less where the leading voltage is essentially equal to the supply voltage (I know it's technically static). You thinking it's still worth tossing a 1/2 Oh resistor on each one?

    Absolutely. A 0.5 ohm resistor won't harm the brightness in any way. The sound boards have a tendency to act a bit odd (random swing sounds, etc) with unresistored setups, especially as the battery charge drains. They don't always do this, but it's common enough of an issue that we recommend using a nominal resistor on each LED. It's cheap insurance to keep a saber running happy.

    Thanks to this forum, I can now say I've built three successful sabers with Tri Cree and Sound (NBv4), recharge ports, etc.
