Thread: JB Kuma's Communicator

    Default JB Kuma's Communicator

Inspired by DC's thermal detonator, and taking a break from making scratch built props and sabers, I decided to make a found parts communicator from some things I had banging around in my parts box.

Right now it's just a dumb batter and LED setup with no electronics (a stunt communicator??) but I may add some things later.

The weathering was fun and I'm really happy with the way it came out. First I put some ink and paint on it in layers and wipes, then I shook it around in a box of metal parts, then I beat it up with a file. Finally I hit it with some more ink and paint then a clear coat to seal it all in.

    Great job on the weathering!
A momentary switch would make that thing perfect in my book.

Thanks! I'll be adding a brass button switch, I just need to print a chassis for it and decide if I want to add a cheap little sound chip to it, not sure what sort of sounds it would make though.
