    Default blade surface adjustments

    i seen in some pic where outside of blade appears to been sanded? i would like to try on a few blades to give them a different look ? any advice very much appreciated and what type of grit and sandpaper should i use ?

    Get uncut blade material. When you trim it to the appropriate length experiment on the leftovers..... . I'm doing something similar right now.

    This may not help....I happen to have a 33" wood lathe I got at Harbor Freight. I just plug both ends of the polycarbonate tube and start with 220 grit sandpaper running at a moderate rpm. Move the sandpaper slowly across the surface to get a uniform texture and then finish with 400, and 600 grit. Wipe it down really well and remove the plugs.
