    Default The Mark 2992

So I've been toying with the idea of creating a graflex inspired saber but adapted for military use, as if a soldier had picked up the weapon from a fallen Jedi and refitted it for his own purposes. And here is the result:

In most ways, it's pretty similar to a standard graflex, but instead of t tracks on the grip, it has Magpul picatinny rails and a front sight post instead of bunny ears. As desired, I can attach it to an M-4 hand guard and have the world's most technologically advanced bayonet.
I always wondered at how little the Jedi ever adapted their lightsabers to extended use in the field. I guess this is my first conception of what they might have looked like under other circumstances.

Quite a nice design. Dare I say that the rails look even nicer than the t tracks. Kind of reminds me of those WWI German stick grenades, so you're definitely in the right ballpark. Keep up the good work.

Love the use of the non traditional "grips"!

    Very Nice!

I always thought rails would look good on a saber.

I like the black Asoka looking one as well.

Many thanks. I'm glad to see it was a design of interest. And yep, the other one was definitely Ahsoka inspired with a little bit of Kylo Ren as well.
Later I'll be adding a selector lever as the top of a rotary kill key for the recharge port. Maybe somewhere down the road I'll fulfill my real dream of a lightsaber constructed of salvaged helicopter parts.

I like the grips, just not fond of how the bayonet connector makes the nose of the saber look
"But you are mistaken. I am no Jedi"

It's nothing but a front sight post, and admittedly it's not my first choice, but it's all I got right now. Good news is it can be removed and replaced with any other piece that attaches to a rail.
