I've asked, I know others have, its all a mystery. I bought a couple red blanks and 3 tips and made up a set of blades for a modified Kylo Ren Black Series Saber. In the below video, I compare the blades to blank white blades.

My blade prep: Tips glued on with CA. Cut to length. Insert rolled cellophane gift wrap. Sand outside of blade and tip. So, we're triple diffused. I'd put my blades up against VV for even diffusion. I'm getting pretty good at that.

So, without further ado, Enhanced Red Blade Video Demonstration:

My personal feedback: they make the deep red blades more photogenic when illuminated. They take some of the fuscia away that the eye doesn't see but the camera does. During the day, when not illuminated in full sunlight they look great, way better than that brake light goop painting crap everyone is putting on their Kylo blades. I give a thumbs up to the enhanced red blades for day blades/night blades on a red bladed saber. Have no idea about the other colors, but assume they're similar!

Happy Trails.
