No, Luke's green crystal being synthetic is not canon. That is in a deleted scene which is an extra on the blu-ray and not reincorporated into the movie. Deleted scenes are not canon and nothing but the movies and Star Wars The Clone Wars were canon before the Expanded universe was renamed to Legends. Now apparently all sorts of media are canon. Not sure how I feel about that, lol.
