18650 battery question

Hi everyone. Since the shop is out of stock on the Panasonic 3.7v 3400mAh PCB battery, I wanted to know if anyone has actually "rolled" their own; meaning, solder some tabs & leads, then shrink wrap. Obviously we aren't supposed to exposed batteries to heat, but I'm curious if something like this would be permissible. If not, can someone recommend where I might find a 3.7v 3400mAh PCB battery? I've literally searched for close to 30 minutes, but I'm not finding what I'm looking for.

Rough up the battery terminals, be sure you have a hot iron, use flux, and don't overheat the battery too much.

If you want to solder your own pack, always look for cells with pre-welded tabs first, because it can be quite risky to heat up the battery terminals. I found some NCR18650B cells (aka the Panasonic 3400mAh ones) with really nice tabs on eBay.

I got a set of 18650 Panasonic 3400mAH with the solder tabs, and I ordered a set of PCB's for them. I wanted to ask; when I solder the tabs to the PCB and I'm ready to shrink wrap it all, which direction should the PCB circuitry be facing? Towards the battery or away from the battery?
