Thread: Resistance Verification

    Default Resistance Verification

Hey guys. Wiring up my first sabers in a while and wanted to double-check resistance values. Trying to get 2 of these done in the next week, if possible.

    Pico Crumble
    Luxeon Tri Rebel R-G-RB
    3.7V 18650

According to the instructions from Erv, the test was done with no resistance on B or G dies and a 1.8ohm on R.

According to the Luxeon data sheet for Rebel LEDs, I arrived at the following using the online LED resistance calculator:

    RB vf=3.51, 1A (max); 1ohm, 2W
    G vf=3.51, 1A (max); 1ohm, 2W
    R vf=2.6, 700mA (max); 1.8ohm, 2W

To complicate matters, I believe I have a 1ohm, 2w currently hooked up to the RB die, but when I fire it up (with a full battery), swing sounds play continuously until it is turned off, so I suspect my resistance may be to blame.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

You are using one of the websites? You can use the .47 ohm .5w resistors for your blue and green. Your red value is good, if you can buy that one.

Thanks for the quick reply! This is the calculator I used when I wired up my Nano and it worked perfectly:

If I cannot locate the 1.8ohm 2w resistor, can you suggest an alternative?

You'll have to round up to the 2.2 ohm 5 W one in the store. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/22...istor-P11.aspx Or if you have a local source, any 1.6 ohm or greater 2 watt resistor should be ok, and will be much smaller.
