Thread: Soundboard outside of main body

Default Soundboard outside of main body

Just out of question, has anyone ever tried to build a lightsaber with the soundboard outside of the saber hilt?

Like mounted inside something that looks like a control box but with a nano biscotti (or similar) inside it with wires running through to the main hilt through a hole or something.

I think it'd be an interesting build/design, if space permits that is.

    Thoughts?

    Edit: comma

I don't recall ever seeing a saber built like that. Typically there's a lot more room inside a hilt than inside a control box.

It may be possible, but your cram-fu better be excellent.

WHY would anyone want to do something like that???

Maybe for a protosaber but I don't see a benefit to it. You could still do a protosaber design and have the board in hilt and avoid a lot of possible issues.

And yes I see op says control box but is that a control box on or off the hilt.

For the look but with protection of your sound board, I'd suggest putting the sound board inside, then find a small cool looking circuit board to fake-wire and mount to the outside.

It'd certainly alter the behavior of the motion-sensors on the board.

Doh. I didn't even think of that. I'm a dummy. Protosaber is out. Only thing good in that would be speaker and switch maybe. But even the speaker being in a proto pack seems weird.

I guess the reality of it is flawed, but it would have been cool just as a unique style of saber... only for the sake of it.

Well. There is one way to find out Give it a shot, no harm in being creative.
