Default Do you use armour while dueling?

When I'm dueling casually with friends, we don't use armour, but there's an agreement not to go for the head and to not jab at the upperbody so no one gets stabbed in the neck.

If your swordsmen/fencing skills are not up to hitting blade to blade only...then yes i would say use armor/padding till you get a grip on your swordsman skills.

And P.S. .....in sparing contest...the head is always off limits.

First Mace gave him many chances to to live to die another day....but he was to ....stupid. Second Anakin was manipulated by that power hungry crazy old man. Third that was a movie not real life...lol. I was speaking of the fencing competitions. But that was funny Greenie.

In my saber group we usually just require gloves. Obviously a head shot is not allowed (but they can happen), but we usually don't strike hard enough to cause any real damage. That being said, a couple weeks ago at practice, I was duelling against a new guy (it was his first night out with us) & he zigged when he should have zagged & I ended up bloodying his lip.

It's all fun and games 'til someone loses an eye...

... then we have to stop and look for it, dust it off and pop it back in.
