    I was wondering what is best to use for resistor metal or carbon resistor?

    Potential short circuit. Metal within a metal hilt. Not good

    You can use the metal resistors in a pinch if you have to because it is the only type with the specs you need, but you will have to heatshrink the entire resistor. Otherwise, use the closest carbon film you can find for what you need.

    so it just to avoid short circuit, resistor will not be in contact with metal so no trouble for short circui
