    Looks good bro....i wish you would have posted your idea first...being a master craftsman i would have told you wood is to porous for those two types of glues...will drink them like crazy(as you found out...sorry). The wood glue will work for now, the best thing to use is the Loctite 2-part epoxy. (pic below)

    *Face Palm* Never even thought about epoxy! Would make one heck of a mess but would be perfect.
    Oh well, live and learn. How else do we learn but by screwing up and posting about it online for
    someone more experienced then us to teach us haha

    I believe the first question of non-threaded saber joining should always be "is epoxy the right thing for this?" with the second "what kind?" Barring that, a sealant on the wood also helps with the soaking issue, or a "pre-stain" which is often used for softer woods to even out the finish across the grain.

    LOVE the size of that thing. An absolute beast. Always had a fondness for two-handed sabers. Not usually a PVC fan but this is a beauty.
