Thread: Best switch for sink tube?

Default Best switch for sink tube?

I'm using a 12 inch sink tube so I'm looking for a switch that's easy to install from the inside with a pair of needle nose pliers. I know some switches have to be threaded in, or some have the nut that has to be threaded from the inside, I want to avoid these.

The small momentary switches will work well if you use this method: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...ounting-method
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...e-to-Ohm-s-Law for getting resistor values the right way!

Wow that seems like a lot of work. Are there really no buttons that are installed from the inside and threaded from the outside? I'm using this switch http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/SP...utton-P42.aspx

The problem is the standoff created from back mount (front nut) method.

The amount of thread that would be out of the hilt unless you put a nut on the inside as well.

It does seem like a bit of work your first go at it. Did for me When I got started with jgon's set up I decided I would do a few practice rings to get a feel for the method. Turns out it works really well. So maybe do a few practice pieces (no drilling your hilt or any of that like) to see how the set up works. If its not your style at least you can say you gave it a try and its a method you may be able to add to your arsenal for a later time.
One last thing. When its uttered "it seems like a lot of work" I remember hearing "do or do not...." Point is don't doubt your self based on the amount of work. Rather accept the challenge that is in front of you with all the knowledge and skill you can amass (your arsenal) and give it some practice. If some thing is worth doing, then more than likely it won't be easy

In the grander scheme of this hobby, the clip is really simple and elegant solution. There may be a few steps involved, but it only requires common tools, inexpensive parts, and a touch of patience.

The button you linked to is exactly what you are asking for: installed from the inside and threaded from the outside

I used to use those switches a lot, trust me, they're easy to install....you can simply use a screwdriver to push it up through the hole, hold it, and thread the nut on from the outside.

I used those in pvc sabers as well: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...l=1#post138543
