Thread: Collecting parts

    Default Collecting parts

Ok vode, so I'm building a Starkiller replica & I've spent the last 2 weeks pouring over videos & items in the store & I think I've got just about everything I need to build my saber, can someone check my wishlist & let me know if you see anything I've missed:

I can't add the chassis spacers to my wishlist because I need to choose their color, which I can't do because they're out of stock at the moment.

Thanx in advance for your help!

Hello NassadTal, you're gonna want a resistor for the led of the switch. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/20...stor-P847.aspx. This will do the job but be aware it has a pos and neg.

Ah yes...I forgot my switch had a light in it, thanx for the catch greenie. Would either of the resistors I already have in list work? I was planning getting extras anyway

No. The switch led is rated at about 30mA at most, i think. Check the spec. You can also use ohms law and select the correct resistor, quite a high one I would expect. Good call on extras though. You could do a some calcs on other colour LEDs and grab a few for future builds .

Awesome...thank you sir, I'll add it to my list!

Ok vode, I've made some changes to my original design (mainly because I realized just how HUGE a 13.25in hilt is) & I need another check of my list to make sure I didn't leave anything off during the changes. I'm gonna start throwing money at this project very soon (probably gonna start with the chassis) & I wanna make sure the list is complete.

I did my best to keep everything compartmentalized (body parts with body parts, chassis parts with chassis parts, etc) so hopefully that helps.

The link in the first post does take you to the updated wishlist, thanx in advance for checking me thru this.

I see your wishlist has a covertec belt clip yet you don't have a covertec wheel for the hilt itself listed? Also if you are using the PLI for the activation box you don't need the box top as well, unless you plan to mill out slots for the leds and switch? Good Luck with your build and MTFBWY.

The belt clip comes with a plastic wheel. It's perfectly functional, but if you want a metal one it'll need to be ordered separately.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

The wheels come with the Covertec clips...I've already bought 4 clips from TCSS & all 4 had the wheels included.

As far as the activation box goes, the plan is to cut holes in the plate & cover the PLI board. I don't like that it's exposed so I talked to Tim about modifying the box so the board will sit lower in it & then the plate will go on top of it.

I appreciate the check Onli...little things like that tend to get overlooked

*smacks self on forehead* Doh! on me, I'd forgotten the clips come with a plastic wheel...maybe because I always use the metal ones with the nice radius instead but of course the ones that come with the clip are perfectly functional. Great idea for modification on the box - Tim does excellent custom work so that will be very cool I'm sure. I look forward to seeing your build when completed. MTFBWY
