Thread: Saber for the Lady

  1. #1

    Default Saber for the Lady

Starting a saber for the wife today. This will be my first shot at wireless RICE. Looking forward to messing with that a bit. The only real criteria she gave me was (naturally) pink or purple blade. Ive got quite a bit of sleeve material here I plan on dressing it out with. I also sourced a single LED power level indicator, and a couple of small led tactile switches. Im a little bored with the 12/16mm AV ones. And they also save a ton of space.

Looks like it'll be a fun build.

    They are all fun!

I have also found that the MPS inserts will fit snugly (in reverse) into pommel style #4. You need to trim them down on the rim so that the pommel cap will clear the threads. But they work really well and look clean.

Now that's really cool. Great idea. That's a good way to create easy access to the plugs.

I actually plan on using this one and making the center hole on the pommel cap large enough to fit the charge plug into. That way I wont even have to remove it to charge the saber or put the kill key in.

Really interested in seeing what you do with those switches.

Im planning on building them into the chassis so they sit just inside the handle. Ill be using a couple of cabochons (pink lab opal, amethyst) for the covering push-buttons.

The 2.1 mm charge port will screw right into that with no mods or you can strip the threads and it will free float in there.

Hey, gimmie some credit here! I mean Im going to tap out the center hole in the actual pommel cap. So that I can fit the charger plug through it to reach where the MPS insert is seated inside. As such:
