Thread: anakin battery pack disassemble?

  1. #1

    Default anakin battery pack disassemble?

Has anyone tried to disassembly the battery and speaker pack for the anakin 05. I have a problem with my speaker and would like to know if someone has done this before? Also just in case where could I get a replacement speaker if needs be?

I too would like those to say anything about disassembling it. I was thinking about it for a future project.

Fawnheart, for replacements you should check the sound forum and use the search feature. There are a few good topics out there for it.

Didn't jtsteph or hitogiri discuss this a while back? I somewhat remember this as there was an issue with how the case had to be split open. Let's see if I can dig this dawg up...

    EDIT- Here we go: http://thecustomsabershop.com/sabers...s=battery,pack

EDIT2- Sorry, as soon as I looked at it I remembered it was Do-Clo and UMI. It seems that Umi has been gone almost as long as Scaarmor.

I dont have any pics....but i have a few MR commin in if you want pics ill tear one down to document it.....

Documenting it would be awesome. I'd like to know what I'm getting into before I take it apart instead of blindly cutting. I'd like to keep the wires intact if possible.

I was planning on modifying the battery pack to house a 7.2V li-ion and a recharge port.

I dont think one has to cut at all...like i said i should be getting those three sabers in this evening....its like three screws on each end....but i havnt taken apart the 6 cell yet either....ill document both the 6 and the 3 cell tonight.

Edit: If i have to cut into it i still will then put it back together....

I was going by the thread posted... if it pops apart all the better. I did notice the screws but in the interest of not messing up my saber I wasn't going just pull it apart on a whim.[]

For what I want to do cutting will certainly be involved. I'm mostly interested in how the wires are laid out. Like how in the Hasbro's they use that sticky glue to put them to the walls... I want to make sure there's none of that for when I have to cut.

I think the wires just travel.....hold that thought, ill go grab my old vader one i have laying in my junk tray......*jeopardy thought provoking song plays ion background*.....crap...forgot wife went to beach with her mother and took the digi cam with her....i still will post pics...but no gooey stuff....if you cut about 1/4 inch above the battery slot you will just be above the cap that screws on(looks liek the scres on opposite end) but cut shallow due to the hole where the speaker wires travels through is less than 1/8 in and the glued part of the cap goes right up to the hole.....if the speaker is bad i would cut about 1/8-3/16 below the speaker so you can cut the top off and still have a platform to glue the new speaker back in....then you will be able to see the three screws to remove the cap to beable to run re-run the wires if need be.....again....ill post pics later once United Package Smashers (thanx Kip) delivers the sabers....then ill have the anakin bat pack to do a comparison shot to this vader(since they are close enough to show open and closed comparisons....) The wires just travel down betewwn the two batteriesto the right of the yellow arrow...to get a better view(and it might be different on the anikin bat pak) you cna remove the lower screws and the cap just comes right off....
