Thread: Free Software for NBv3 WAV files?

  1. #1

Question Free Software for NBv3 WAV files?

Are there any free utilities that will save wav files in the format compatible with NB v3? I used Audacity to capture and edit the files, but I can't same them in a format the NB can play.

I've heard SoundForge can do the job but I don't want to drop $300.
I'm looking forward to some real talk with some real folks...

Audacity should work fine. Plenty of people use it. Make sure you have your project and track settings set appropriately before you export.

After much trial and error I figured out the steps so I'll post them here in case others have this same problem:

    - Start a new, empty project.
    - Add the stereo wav file into project (File > Open)
    - Click the dropdown to the left of the track and select Split Stereo Track.
    - Delete one of the tracks (Tracks > Remove Track)
    - Click the dropdown to the left of the track and select Mona (it should be on either left or right track)
    - Change the Project Rate to 22050 in the lower left corner of the window.
    - File > Export and select WAV signed 16-bit.
I'm looking forward to some real talk with some real folks...
