Default Wiring EL without the mono jack and plug.

Hi, I could'nt find this anywhere in the forums or thread index..

I was wondering, I know the two small wires on the outside of the EL main wire solder on to another part of the mono plug as per the diagram.

however I just took apart my old EL saber, so that I could cut up the wire and put it onto my jacket. my plan is to run it down the sleeves, so I dont want that bulky mono jack setup on the shoulder. I was going to solder it strait onto a wire extention , but I realised, do those two small wires also need a separate wire to solder on to? and where should it end up?

correct me if I'm wrong (which I probably am.)

EL WIRE --------------> wire extention -------------> driver white wire 2
2x thin wires ---------> thin wire extention --------> driver white wire 1

moreover, what is the function of the 2x thin wires on the EL?

thanks heaps if anyone can help me!

that looks right. That's the way I did it for my glowy costume anyways.

It's the way the (phosphorus?) reacts between the two small wires and the big wire that makes it light up.

A more accurate description would be standard AC wiring.

Think of a Hot and Neutral with current moving back and forth at a set speed along the loop.

Bottom line is no you don't need the plug, that is for the ability to have swappable blades.
