Thread: Dark Matter photon build

  1. #1

    Default Dark Matter photon build

Here is the beginning of my photon blade dueling saber. PC 3.5, Tri-Cree Rblue inside. I just gave it a base coat of Cerakote last night. Its so gloriously slick on aluminum threads. Next will be the shroud work and trimmings.

    Beautiful looking saber.

I'm glad you mentioned threads. I had spoken to a shop previously and was hesitant to let them do it and they were not keen on all the masking, so I passed. Now I know for next time that it should be ok.

When its applied CORRECTLY Cerakote should be applied at .001! Its a very technical coating. I do fine thread, machine screws in them all the time. Its also a self lubricating material. So you wont have any more binding issues. The parts spin VERY freely.

Nice! Thats the name for the custom color I mixed. 3/1 Graphite Black and Tungsten Grey. Its hard to see here but there are very subtle metal flakes in the mostly blackish finish. Kind of like space dust.
