@ Avidgrant : For home painting I use Duplicolor clear adhesion promoter and then immediately start painting over it, within a couple minutes tops. Not much part prep other than acetone and masking.
The colors in this case are Tamiya model paints off the shelf, with the masking fluid used for the effects.
The only reasons I shot the clear at work was higher quality aerospace paint, and the fact I could make it super matte for the look I was going for. I do have testors dullcote at home, but I find it dries to a speckled finish if your not careful.
I'd do a home painting video, but lack a camera to do so. Maybe someday
