Thread: Battery question

  1. #1

    Default Battery question

I have seen many posts saying aa batteries are okay, but li-ion batteries are better. This is for battery life between ~30 minutes to an hour. But has anyone tried to make one with 2 C type batteries? they are 1.5 v and have a massive mah rating. Is there a reason why you dont see many sabers built with c batteries ?

There's no reason you couldn't, but they're HUGE. A pair of them would take up a ton of space inside a hilt.

Cram-fu is hard enough without a pair of C cells sitting in a saber.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

1.03" Diameter X 1.97" Length; two of those alone would take up almost 4 inches of hilt, with veeery little room to stack other things on top of them. 8000mAh does sound nice though. It would definitely be possible though, and even desirable, as long as you planned for it specifically - not something you could just drop in any old hilt.
