Thread: How to make an awsome purple?

Heres the scoop, Ive done both a 3w white with a filter and a white K2 with the same filter. The K2 is the way to go to get the brightest purple. I run the setup off of the stock MR board. However, for the K2 to get to full brightness I used a relay to fully drive the LED. Doing it this way produces a much more satisfying purple blade.
    Heres some pictures.

you didn't happen to take any pics when you were doin this did ya? "crosses fingers" just wandering placement for relay. I went throught the conversion tutorial and there isn't much room.

edit: oh and where did ya get the relay?

This is where I got the relay.

I dont have a picture of the placement, Madcow might. It fits in really nice though. If you unscrew the board from the inside of the hilt, there should be enough room either next to or underneath it to slip the relay into.

(Edit) In fact Madcow, did have a pic. (I borrowed it from his website)

He used a slightly bigger relay, I didnt have any problems fitting it in, nor did I have to cut a notch for it.

Actually me and a few others have found that there is something slightly different with the Mace board. I tried it on an Ani and it flutters like a strobe. Same with the Luke... it's really odd.
