Default My First Saber - Birthday Present For Son

This is my first post and it is to show you guys my first lightsaber build. I've learned a lot over the past month or so from these forums and this allowed me to feel confident in making my first lightsaber. It was built using 1.25" and 1.5" sink tube. I used the electronics from an old Luke Skywalker saber my son had from back in 2006 or 2007. I did replace the clash sensor, swing sensor and speaker with ones sold by TCSS. The blade is made from 85 5mm blue leds. It runs on a Panasonic 18650 3.7 volt lithium-ion battery. It has a recharge port with a kill key. I gave it to him a couple days ago on his 15th birthday and he was blown away. I'm not sure how I was able to keep it a secret from him for the past month, but I did. I have another son who is 12 and the first thing he said was "I want one!". So I'm now starting my second build! Thank you guys for all the information you freely share on this forum. It makes projects like this much easier.

Excellent work! Your son looks quite pleased with it!
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Thanks! He was in awe when he opened it. The first thing he said was "You made this? How?"

Nice Job! I love seeing the creativity with some of these sink tube hilts as well as the pvc hilts. It is just mind-blowing what you can make with a little creativity.
