Default Wiring Red LED and have a couple of questions

I would like to wire up a red LED to replace the orange LEDs in my lightsaber. I have a single LEDEngine wired to 7.4V coming from a buck puck.

I would like to wire either a Luxeon Rebel Color LEDs Single 1 Up Color : Red 627nm or a Luxeon Rebel Color LED Triple 3 Up (+150%) Color : Red 627nm

Now it is my understanding that normally for the single LED I would have to use a 10 Ohm resistor. I only have 1 ohm resistors at the moment. But I understand that the Triple 3 could be wired in series and I wouldn't need a resistor. I do have the Carclo Lens for the Triple 3 so I have the lenses for both.

Can someone help shed some light on this for me? I would like some input before I burn out a LED.

The correct answer can be found here: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com...e-to-Ohm-s-Law

You can find specs for the Rebel LEDs here: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Lu...Star-P523.aspx or you can look in the store at the Cree LEDs. The Rebel reds are run at 700mA, the Crees are run at 1000mA.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

If you're using a BuckPuck, you won't need a resistor.

thank you Generic Jedi, I am using a buckpuck. I just wired it up in series and it works great.
