Thread: 1.5" sink tube blade holder adapter?

  1. #1

Default 1.5" sink tube blade holder adapter?

Couldn't find a part in the store, is there an adapter for a blade holder to fit a 1.5 inch sink tube? How is that done?

It's in with the rest of the non-MHS blade holders, here is the direct link.

Thanks! I was looking under sing tube parts and found the 1.25" blade holder, this one isn't listed there.

And a question or clarification on how this part is used with a sink tube. Do I understand correctly that this blade holder slides inside the sink tube and is held by whatever means you use (epoxy/screws/rivets)?

The blade slides in the holder and is held by a set screw, the holder slides in the sink tube and is held by other means, and the sink tube is just a handle/hilt/body to hold electronics. is that correct?

Another option, once it is back in stock, is to use this: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MH...pter-P162.aspx That will allow you to mount any MHS part with male threads onto your sinktube hilt.

by whatever means you use (epoxy/screws/rivets)?
Epoxy: No. the holder is so tight you won't be able to get enough epoxy inside to forma good bond. Also it makes repairs/LED changes, a bear.

Screws: Yes. You can do nice decorative screws (like button heads) or you can use set screw from the inside for an invisible hold.

Rivets: No. most people only think of pop rivets but any style rivet will leave an obstruction inside the holder, that will interfere with either the blade or the heat sink.

Does that work with the v1 or v2 parts? Is there a difference? Also, your pvc pipesabers were awesome, and I might end up doing that instead.

It is for v1 parts, so yes, there is a difference.
