Led padding?

Do you guys place the LED onto a simular thickness padding before hotglueing onto the heatsink? or just the LED chip directly onto the Heatsink itself?

It is generally a good practice to have a thermal tape pad between the LED and the heatsink. The store has these:

It would not be a good idea to hot glue anything to the heat sink! Because of how hot the LEDs can get, the hot glue would melt and bad things could possibly happen!
