    I'm actually a pipe fitter/plumber by trade. so doing PVC hilts will be easy to do if I can get my imagination to cooperate.

    Well when a military RFP I have seen details it as "not cost effective" you can assume.

    Plus they don't seem to sell it in tubes. Just plates and lenses for optics

    No it can be manufactured/shaped in most traditional plastic forming processes, so if willing to invest in extrusion dies and minimum quantity runs, tubes should probably not be an issue. This is assuming the material will reflow around the supports for the center that creates the hollow...without visible nit-lines.

    Oh, I wasn't saying it couldn't be manufactured in tubes. I just meant that even if the op could afford to buy it, right now they only sell plates and optics, so it'd be a custom request
