    Default Can I do it?

    Hey there, forums!

So, I want to charge my saber for the new movie. I have the 3.7V li-ion battery, and the charger recommends that I use a 4.2V, .5A charger.

I would love to buy one from the store, but it won't arrive in time.

Would it be safe to use a 5V, 1A charger or would my battery smoke out?

    Thanks!

I know it's a stupid question and that I should stick to the specifications. I'm just asking if that'd be pushing the battery TOO hard.

What is the MAh rating of your battery pack? I would think, and please don't hold me to this like gospel, but I would think that so long as you didn't leave the charger on overnight or something else silly, that the PCB on the battery pack would provide adequate protection for using the charger you specified. I mean, if your battery pack is say 2600MAh and you plug it into a 5A charger, then that would definitely be a problem, but a 1amp charger on a 2600MAh pack shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you for the input! Yeah, it's the 2600mAh pack. Alright, so I'll charge it for about an hour and hope nothing explodes
