Thread: new saber needs help!

    Default new saber needs help!

Im fairly new to this scene and would really appreciate a second opinion..

Im building a stunt saber only (no sound).
My goal is maximum brightness using x1 7.4v Li-ion 2600mAh 18650 Battery Pack..

I need help selecting an LED (probably from LEDsupply.com) not sure if i should/can use a quad star or tri?

I need an LED that can fit in the standard lens holder (I'm assuming)..

Ive been informed that a lot of current is wasted using a buck puck? so my preferable alternative is to go with a 5W resistor for both added current and longer battery life.

    ive already selected a switch.

would really appreciate a personal response or even live chat from someone experienced.

Pick up one of the Tri-Cree LEDs from TCSS, they'll get you the brightness you seek, and they fit all the other TCSS parts.

A BuckPuck is more efficient than a resistor, not the other way around. You do need a minimum of 5v to operate one, so your 7.4v li-ion pack is fine.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.
