Thread: First Build Complete

    Default First Build Complete

My first lightsaber build is finally complete. Thank you to everyone here for your help in answering newbie questions.

    Stats:
    All MHS hilt parts
    Nano Biscotte V2
    CREE XP-E2 rB LED
Grip wrap is tennis racket leather grip.
Blade plug made from an electric motor rotor.

Added a couple of small details for convenience. I have a second recharge port in the pommel that is not wired in. It's just to give me an easy place to put the kill key when in use. Also, I cut a very short section of hex wrench and I keep it inside the pommel with a rare earth magnet on the snap ring. Just for those times when you forget your hex wrench.

Congrats on completing your first build Drawcut. The leather wrap looks pretty sweet, nice touch with the choke as well. I like the 'toolbox' in the 'trunk' idea I nearly made a blade plug with a motor winding but finally used it for my CC . Good work all round

Thanks all for the kind words. Does feel great to be part of the club.

Greenie: "Trunk"? I thought you would call that the "boot" on your side of the pond.

I may redo the stitching on the choke wrap to something fancier than a basic shoe lacing, but for now it's good enough. The hex wrench can also be placed with the short end outside and the long end stuck in through one of the three holes in the pommel insert sticking to the magnet on the inside. I may try incorporating the hex wrench into the design of the greebles on a future saber. With a magnet of course because magnets are always cool.
