Building first lightsaber

Hello everyone! So I am thinking of starting my very first lightsaber build. First off I want to say that I want a makoto type lightsaber. I want to have my light scroll up and scroll down during power on and off. I need to make a hilt and the blade I can grab from a hardware store. Now my main concern is the led lights. What kinds of leds would I need? How many? And like I said I want it be really bright like makoto's. I want to have a sound board on it as well as the clash and humming. Please let me know all the items and tools I would need. Very much appreciated!

You'll need to read up on LED string blades. A good soldering iron and a lot of patience are needed for that particular type of build.

The soundboard you're looking for is the CF-LS (Crystal Focus for LED Strings).

You have chosen the more difficult path to building a lightsaber. Much research and reading is in your future. Here are a couple links to get you started:

Thank you for the reply! Thank you for the links! I just spoke with a friend of mine and he's willing to do this project with me. He is way more experienced at making led strips and solderin and such. So now my ultimate question is. What kind of hilt would I need and where can I get it from? What type of wires to use for the led strip.

Thanks! I'll check that out. I tried it once but got confused. I saw a YouTube video how to use but I didn't watch it. I'll watch that and give it a shot

if you look through the crystal focus LS manual you will see the connectors that are suggested for use with the LED string blades. if you get a heatsink from TCSS, that connector will fit perfectly into the hols holder part of the heatsink. just use the nut/washer that comes with the connector. the hardest part of your build will (by far) by the blade
