Thread: Heat Sink V3 vs Heat Sink V4

Default Heat Sink V3 vs Heat Sink V4

Wondering what the pros and cons are of using a heat sink V4 instead of a V3.
I know a V3 would have better cooling capacity, but is there any other advantage of using it? Is the cooling capacity difference a deal breaker?

I think the simple rule of thumb is to use V3 unless you *really* need a switch or something right behind the LED.

I'm personally curious though if the copper bits are interchangeable between all the different MHS, FX, Sink tube and misc LED holders. Would be nice to slide a v3 heatsink into an FX conversion with custom guts.

I don't know about all of them but the MHS heat sink v3/v4 will not work with the heat sink module for 1" tubes. The MHS heat sink is larger.
