Bunny ear substitute?

Starwinder's already showed me the actual bunny ears from the shop (thanks again!) but as they're currently out of stock and I have no idea when they'll be back, does anyone have any good substitute ideas for what to use for bunny ears? Hardware store ideas very welcome. The hilt is PVC and the best option would just be something to attach directly onto it, much like the ones from the store. I've seen the pieces of aluminum folded through slits but I doubt that would work since my blade is quite snug inside.

Do a search for "aluminum trim channel" at Lowe's. You'll find something that'll be reasonably easy to cut down, shape into bunny ears, and attach to your saber.
