    I would be wary of permanently attaching the shroud with JB weld. I was originally thinking of using JB weld to attach my shroud, but I realized that if something ever went wrong in that section of the hilt, I would not be able to get at it because the shroud (if done with JB weld) would lock that entire section of the hilt shut. I'm going to use the blade retention screw to keep the shroud on, that way it can be removed for maintenance.

    Could you JB weld the shroud to a trim ring and then add that to the saber? That way, it could still be removed if you need to access that area of the hilt.

    No worries, the attachment points would be on just one section leaving the BH and leather wrapped section to seperate. Servicing would not be an issue. Also it is elevated off the saber about 1/8" so no friction between shroud and surrounding pieces
