    Default Consistent blade luminosity

    Hey guys,

I'm fairly new to the saber building community but I am definitely trying to learn as much as I can as I attempt to build my own saber. When it comes to LED sabers, I understand that sabers generally glow bright at the bottom of the blade than they do at the top. Are there certain types of blades or tricks I can use to minimize that? I would definitely prefer to assemble an LED saber over an EL saber but the blade glow consistency has been a concern of mine.

Celophane and a tip with a reflective disk is as good as you are going to get. You only need about 3 feet of celophane and make sure it's as close to the walls of the blade as possible. Also search there's a lot of topics on this.

Thanks! I'll search these forums for more answers. I'm just not sure what to put in the search fields to find them. But I'll look up celophane and reflective disks.

3 feet is the minimum. Typically you'll use 6-8 feet.

The angle of your lens will play a role as well, but the TCSS lenses have been selected to do the best job of illuminating a full blade.

The reflective discs are already attached to the blade tips. If you're assembling your own blade, you just need to glue the tip to the blade stock, and then add cellophane diffuser (or other diffuser material).

We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

I agree with 3 feet being the minimum, I use a white blade so I only use 3 feet. If you're using a clear blade you are for sure going to want 6-8.
