    Default 16mm Switch Wiring Help

    Hey folks,

New to the saber building community looking for a little help with wiring everything together. I have searched the forums but haven't been able to find a clear (idiot-proof) guide on wiring for the 16mm latching vandal switch. I followed a diagram I found elsewhere, and was able to get the switch to turn on the blade led, but the ring led on the switch itself does not illuminate. Any help?

I am using a 9-volt battery pack, and the 700mah buckpuck.

    Thanks!!!

If you want the switch LED to come on with the blade, wire from NO to the LED+
if you want the switch LED to be on when the blade is off, wire from NC to LED+
if you want the switch LED on always, wire from C to LED+
    LED- goes to battery-

Make sure to put your resistor between the switch and the LED+

So I would like the LED to come on with the blade:

Positive from the battery into C1
Wire with resistor from NO to LED+
    LED+ to buckpuck+
    LED- to Battery-
    Buckpuck negative to ?

As an FYI, we don't use 9v batteries with high powered LEDs. You'll get maybe about 5-10 minutes worth of dim blade with them. They're designed for low-current applications, and won't support the current draw that a high powered LED requires.

    Swap to a 7.4v li-ion pack, or a 4x alkaline (6v) instead.
We all have to start somewhere. The journey is all the more impressive by our humble beginnings.

Thanks! You guys have both been very helpful!
